Investing in internet freedom supports human rights, national security BY KATRINA LANTOS SWETT, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR – 05/17/18 01:00 PM EDT   There is growing recognition that internet freedom has become an indispensable human right of the 21st century. This new reality has created an urgent need to update America’s strategy for informing and engaging the world in support of freedom and democracy by bringing it into the internet era. Congress has responded to that challenge by appropriating $50 million annually to fund internet freedom and firewall circumvention technologies. Announcement of the Establishment of the Chinese Entrepreneur Rights Association (CERA)  In view of the current political dilemma of the private enterprises in China, and in response to Chinese entrepreneurs‘ urgent needs, with the active support and assistance of all parties, under the joint efforts of the Initiatives for China/Citizen Power team, the China Entrepreneurs Rights Association will officially launch on the 16th of April, 2018.
